Text of the Convention This is a copy of the text of the convention maintained on the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) web site. Status of Ratifications Lists the Countries that have ratified major Human Rights conventions, including the Convention on Rights of the Child. This is a PDF (portable document format) document located on the OHCHR web site. Committee on the Rights of the Child The Committee on the Rights of the Child is the body that monitors how well States are meeting their obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child. When a country ratifies the Convention, it assumes a legal obligation to implement the rights recognized in the treaty. Questionnaire Questionnaire about the Implementation of the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child (CROC) Optional Protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child To help stem the growing abuse and exploitation of children worldwide, the United Nations General Assembly adopted two additions to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. These additions called 'Optional Protocols' aims to try and stop the exploitation and abuse of the world’s children.
